Georgina Oladokun is the Principal of the Law Firm of A. Georgina Oladokun, P.C. She was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Maryland, London and Nigeria. She attended the University of Maryland College Park for her undergraduate education, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in 1999. During the period of her undergraduate education Ms. Oladokun was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award. After graduation, she attended Ohio Northern University- Claude W. Pettit College of Law, a premiere private university. While in law school, she was elected to and served in several student government associations including but not limited to the position of Student Bar Vice-President, and Black Law Student Association President. She completed the program at ONU Law Legal Clinic, a program in which students are provided an opportunity for intensive study and actual experience in a myriad of practice areas including Judicial Externships and Civil Litigation. Ms. Oladokun served as a Judicial Extern to Judge Allan H. Davis of the Common Pleas Court of Hancock County-Juvenile Division, Findlay, Ohio. Additionally, she represented clients in civil litigation matters such as divorce, and social security disability before the Allen County Courthouse under the supervision of a licensed staff attorney. Further, she served as a Guardian-ad-Litem, and as an Alternate Dispute Resolution Officer. While in law school, Ms. Oladokun was awarded the ONU Outstanding Woman Law Graduate Award, and also received the Excellence for the Future Award for excellent achievement in Decedents estates & Trusts. She was awarded her Juris Doctor degree from ONU in 2002. Following graduation, Ms. Oladokun sat for and passed the 2002 Maryland State Bar Exam. Before starting her own firm, Ms. Oladokun was a Senior Attorney at a Washington DC based mid-size law firm. Previously, she also clerked for the Office of the General Counsel for the Secretary of the Air Force at the Pentagon. Ms. Oladokun has extensive experience in special education advocacy and education law, including the development of IEP’s and representing clients in Due Process Hearings, Manifestation Determination Meetings and Expulsion Hearings. As a business advisor, she counsels small businesses on formation, strategic, and succession planning. Ms. Oladokun’s areas of expertise include special education advocacy, education law, immigration, social security/disability law, business law and personal injury. Ms. Oladokun is a member of the Maryland and DC Bar. She is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the State of Maryland, and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. In addition to the afore-mentioned bars, Ms. Oladokun is admitted to the Bar of the United States District Court for the State of Maryland and the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She is a Member of the DC Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), The American Bar Association (ABA) and the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL). Ms. Oladokun loves to give back to the community and as such currently serves as Board President and legal counsel to Molak’s Covenant Incorporation, a non-profit corporation serving the greater Washington D. C. Metropolitan Area. |
